Hemerocallis hybride E t/m M

The daylily is called Hemerocallis, because each flower blooms only one day. In the morning the flower opens and the next day
it withered. Fortunately, a plant so many flowers you still have weeks of enjoyment of a daylily.

It is in many ways an ideal plant. Diseases are not really for the plant and does not need to be supported. The only challenger is the Hemerocallis gall midge-(contarinia quinquenotata), which lays eggs in the bud. You can see this, because the button so swell. The affected delete button and thereby prevents the mosquito multiplies. Discard the affected buds rather than on the compost heap but take it to the organic waste bin to prevent expansion. Although the name suggests otherwise, the daylily is not related to the lily. You do not worry, that the lily beetle strikes.

There are early, midseason and late bloomers. Hemerocallis blooms early in June, the agent in early July and late August. By clever to plant, you can have daylilies blooming all summer.

It looks nice, when you remove the dead flowers every day, but not necessary. The flowering period is extended by in this case.

There are thousands of cultivars of Hemerocallis, in many different colors and color combinations within a flower. In almost every garden and border plants can be successfully applied. The colorful flowers cursing each other but not make a happy whole. They allow to combine so well!

The care is not complicated. The plant likes a five to seven hours a day Sun

In the spring, in March, the dead leaves removed and loosened the soil around the plant. In addition, the plant can be fertilized at once, such as dried cow manure. The plant has no special requirements for the type of soil it likes a rich soil. When the plant after flowering once again gets manure will reduce the growth of the season after benefit.
